Young Entrepreneurs Come Together to Make-A-Wish
Earlier this month, a group of UNC entrepreneurship students came together for a good cause.
A flash startup competition created by 1789 Venture Lab founder Jim Kitchen and made up of teams of Kenan-Flagler business students raised $35,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Community Empowerment Fund.
The money raised for Make-A-Wish will send Aiden, a12-year-old with cystic fibrosis, to Disney World. The money raised for CEF will go towards cars for people transitioning out of poverty.
The teams, received $50 of seed capital per person and created a variety of different businesses over the course of a week. The winning team sold glow stick necklaces to wear at the UNC football game against North Carolina A&T earlier this month, raising $6,146.
Thanks to all of the teams who came out to support Aiden and the Community Empowerment Fund!
